Mid-terms, Assignments and Final Exams – Get Ready!

Each study semester starts with new classes, professors and textbooks.The first few weeks may seem easy but mid-terms and assignments are just around the corner. What can you do to be prepared?

Start Early

Keep up with your weekly readings and practice exercises in your textbooks (beyond assigned homework!) to test your understanding of the material before mid-terms.

What Works for You?

Find out what study skills work best for you when it comes to note-taking, reviewing and studying. Do you prefer writing down or typing your notes? Do you study better alone or in a group? Develop time management skills to balance your studies and other activities that are important to you.

Helpful Resources

Consult your professor or teaching assistant, and ask questions in class to validate your understanding of the material. Attend class discussion groups and if you need extra help, seek out study groups, exam review sessions, a tutor and other on-campus resources like an academic writing or math help centre.
