Cultural and International Opportunities Abound at Guelph

University of GuelphAt the University of Guelph, we know how important it is for students to gain a clear perception of the world around them – and what better way than to incorporate an international perspective into your education?

Each year, over 200 Guelph students take advantage of international living and learning experiences through exchange and study abroad programs. U of G boasts 56 exchange programs in 30 countries, and partnerships with over 50 universities. We also offer six different semester abroad opportunities, where Guelph students and faculty will explore the unique culture and history of a particular region.

An additional 300 students gain world experience through international co-op placements, international research, community service-learning, and courses with international field trips. Students enrolled in any co-operative education program also have the freedom to work anywhere in the world as part of their work placements.

For students unsure about travelling abroad as part of their studies, we believe that global engagement begins at home, which is why we also offer a wide array of educational programs and service learning initiatives that engage students in an exploration of local, national and global issues. Initiatives such as the LINK Program connect new international students with current Guelph students to help ease the transition to Canadian culture, thereby helping current students to become engaged in the international student community.

Guelph students also run over 150 clubs on campus, many of which host a cultural or ethnic focus, and are open to participation from all students.
