York International Internships – Distinguish Yourself from the Competition

Save

How can you differentiate yourself from all your classmates who are graduating with the same skills and knowledge that you have? Consider doing an international internship in the course of your academic career. At York University, we offer funded summer internships around the world to qualified students who, in a period of three months, have the opportunity of gaining a deeper understanding of your field of study while making the connection between what they learn in the classroom and what happens in the world. Internships will help you develop practical and transferable skills. You will work with professionals while building valuable networks around the world. You will learn how to be an effective member of a team while applying a global perspective to your workplace. Depending on where you go, you might have the opportunity to enhance your proficiency in a second (or third) language or learn a new language. Nothing develops intercultural effectiveness faster than jumping out of your comfort zone and into a new environment that will both challenge and enchant you. The opportunities for personal growth are boundless as you meet new people, experience new environments, and undertake adventures beyond your expectations.

If you have the desire to tie your longing for international adventure to your studies, the York International Internship Program (YIIP) is there for you. Information sessions take place throughout the Fall term and applications are due at the beginning of January.

More information on the York International Internship Program can be found on our website at international.yorku.ca./internships or you can contact us at yiip@yorku.ca.
