What It Takes To Be A ‘Caper’

Save

Do you have what it takes? Are you prepared to set aside at least 2/3 of your closet to the colour orange? Can you handle the excitement of joining Canada’s # 1 fans? If so, Cape Breton University wants you!

Cape Breton University offers countless opportunities to get involved. Whether you’re hopping a bus to travel across the country to cheer on our nationally ranked athletes or you’re helping with a fundraiser as part of Enactus, your calendar will be filled in no time. At CBU, you’ll find yourself decorated from head to toe in the vibrant colours of our university, pots and pans are your drum set, kilts are deemed appropriate dress code and a trumpet leads the charge. This is just the beginning.

As a Caper, you like to dress up. You like it so much that you celebrate Halloween and Saint Patrick’s Day twice a year, you’re never at a loss for florescent clothes for our annual Tight ‘n’ Bright and need we say more about your toga making abilities? Our newly renovated Pit Lounge led by the Students’ Union guarantees at least one event a weekend for CBU students.

CBU has a student-focused reputation driven by engaged faculty and staff. It’s so close-knit that you often see its faculty, staff and even President involved on a daily basis! People know you by your first name and encourage you to get involved... and there’s something for everyone.

As a youthful university with state-of-the-art facilities, over 70 student societies, intramural sports and an active student body, CBU gives students an experience you will never forget. After all, university isn’t all about books and classes!
