If you've studied French as a second language in high school, you could earn thousands of dollars in scholarships for the French immersion program at the University of Ottawa – and that's not including regular admission scholarships!

You can receive $4,000 over the course of a four-year degree just by taking courses in French: students in our French immersion program who are taking at least two courses in French per semester automatically receive $1,000 a year for the French Studies Bursary.

If you're currently in high school, you can also earn prize scholarships from our partners: the French for the Future National Essay Contest, the Canadian Association of Immersion Teachers' Immersion clip, and Canadian Parents for French's Concours national d'oratoire all offer prizes of up to $12,000.

The University of Ottawa also offers scholarships based on your admission average, worth up to $4,000 a year, and many other prestigious prizes. Last year, the University of Ottawa gave out a total of more than $37 million in scholarships, and French immersion students earn an average of $2,000.

And it doesn't end there. In Canada, bilingual individuals earn more than their unilingual peers all over the country, so when you graduate, your French skills will keep paying off. French immersion is the program that keeps on giving!
