Supporting Students

Seneca recognizes that the financial requirements of postsecondary education can be a concern for some students. That’s why every year the entire college community comes together to support a major fundraising project.

In fact, Seneca’s annual Campaign for Students just concluded on April 11.

During the eight-week campaign, the Seneca community held more than 35 fundraising initiatives of every shape and size, including a pancake breakfast, basketball game, used book sales, online auction and an annual polar bear dip.

In total, Seneca employees, students, alumni and retirees raised more than $220,000, including a gift of $50,000 from the Seneca Student Federation and $50,000 in matching from an anonymous donor.

Every dollar raised goes directly toward a student endowment. The awards are distributed equally across each Seneca faculty.

But that’s not the only unique student support Seneca offers.

The College also has the Head Start Tuition Assistance Bursaries that can provide qualified students:

- $1,000 for diploma or certificate programs
- $2,000 for a degree program or our Nursing program

Apply by June 30 for the fall semester.

At Seneca there are more than 400 bursaries and scholarships available to help you start your studies. Financial awards are usually awarded on the basis of academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, financial need and special circumstances for specific groups or individuals.
