Description:Economics may be a specialized area of knowledge, but it is relevant to almost every aspect of our lives. At its core, it is the study of reasoned choice in the context of scarce resources and competing interests. The need to make such choices pervades the day-to-day lives of all of us—as individuals and in society as a whole.

You can choose an Honours, Applied Honours, Combined Honours, Combined Applied Honours or General program. If you are an Honours or Applied Honours student interested in a career in banking or finance, you may add a concentration in Financial Economics. If you are interested in a career in the foreign service or in an international governmental or non-governmental organization, you may add a concentration in either International Political Economy or Development. Those with a strong interest in environmental and natural resource issues may add a concentration in Natural Resources, Environment and Economy. A specialization in Quantitative and Mathematical Economics is also available to Honours students.

A minor in Economics, a minor in Industrial Economics, and a co-op option are available as well.
