Description:This two Year Program offered in partnership with Bow Valley College, program graduates receive a Diploma of Ministry and a Practical Nurse Diploma.

This program has an excellent track record of preparing students well. In fact, 100% of graduates from the last five years passed the national examination. Graduates are prepared to provide high-quality nursing care in the areas of medical, surgical, pediatric, maternity, mental health, and geriatric care. Upon successful completion of the Practical Nurse Diploma program and the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPNRE), graduates will be eligible for licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
  •  Grade11 Pure Mathematics  or  Grade11 Applied Mathematics 
  •  Grade12 Biology 
Applicants are required to have a minimum final mark of 60% in English 30-1 or 70% in English 30-2 or equivalent; a credit in Math 20 Pure or a minimum final mark of 60% in Math 20 Applied or equivalent (if your math is not from Alberta, please contact the Admissions Office); and a minimum final mark of 60% in Biology 30 or a minimum final mark of 60% in Anatomy and Physiology (ANPH 150) at Bow Valley College or equivalent course. All applicants educated outside of Canada must also demonstrate that they have successfully completed the English Language, Mathematics and Science academic requirements specified above. Foreign transcripts (outside Canada and US) must be assessed by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 220] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 560]
Application Notes : Applicants whose first language is not English must present a minimum score of 560 written, or 220 on the computer, on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam. An assessment of applicants’ skills in listening and speaking English may also be required. Alternatively, you may complete the Bow Valley College EAP program with a grade of "B".
