Applicants are required to have 70% in each of: English 30-1, Pure Math 30 or Math 30-1 or 30-2 or Applied Math 30, Chemistry 30, and Biology 30. Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 9 is required for Non Native English Speakers.
Application Notes : The College and Association of Respiratory Therapy of Alberta (CARTA) is the licensing body for Respiratory Therapists practicing in Alberta. CARTA requires applicants whose first language is not English to complete the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) enhanced language training proficiency assessment and achieve a minimum level of 9 in all categories (speaking, listening, reading and writing) before being licensed in Alberta. Therefore, it is a program requirement that all students achieve a CLB of 9 prior to applying to the program. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure their language proficiency meets CARTA's requirement. Please note that CARTA does not accept International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL), Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) or Michener English Language Assessment (MELA) as substantially equivalent to the Canadian Language Benchmarks.
