Admission Requirements

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

  •  Grade12 Foundations for College Mathematics (MAP4C) 

Applicants are required to have Foundations of Math 12 with a grade of “C+” or better. International applicants may also demonstrate math pre-requisites by showing evidence of successful completion of post-secondary level business math or statistics courses. Successful completion of a Business Math or Statistics course in an Undergraduate (Bachelor's) Degree with 60% or higher will meet the Math entry requirement. Students who do not have the Math entry requirement may be admitted to the program, but will be required to take a Math upgrading course in the first semester. Applicants must also have completed a two-year college diploma in a discipline other than business, Bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada or English speaking institution from another country, or equivalent training and experience.   • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 79-80] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 213]

If your first language is not English, you must meet the following English Language Proficiency requirements for entry in to Selkirk College University Transfer, Diploma or Degree programs: completion of BC English 12, or equivalent; or completion, with a grade of "C+" or better, advanced core courses in the Selkirk College English Language Program and Provincial Level English 51; or submission of a TOEFL score of 213 (computer) or ibt 79-80 or better; or submission of an EIKEN Grade Pre -1; or submission of an acceptable score on the Language Proficiency Index score of 4 or better; or submission of an IELTS score of 6.5 (no band score lower than 5.5) or English 12 with grade of C+ or higher. Applicants with 6.0 IELTS overall with no band score less than 5.5 may be admitted to the program, but will be required to take an English upgrading course, EASL 066, in the first semester.
