DescriptionThe MLIS/MPA combined degree is a three-year full-time course of study leading to the degrees Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) and Master of Public Administration (MPA).

In an information-based economy, employees must be effectively equipped with technical and professional competencies to survive and prosper in public sector environments. In response to this need, the School of Information Management and School of Public Administration offer the only combined MLIS/MPA program in Canada. Graduates are expected to be leaders, particularly with regard to the administration and management of public sector organizations. This program allows students to focus on critical topics, including information and knowledge management in the public sector, and how information and communication technologies transform the relationship between governments and citizens. In this program, students complete both a practicum and an internship, in order to build their professional experience as they learn.
