Prerequisites NotesApplicants must hold a baccalaureate degree earned from a college or university regionally accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency or an equivalent degree from a foreign university, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for undergraduate and graduate coursework. Completion of the equivalent of 12 semester credit hours in psychology with grades of "C" or better is also necessary to be considered for admission. Courses must be general or introductory psychology, abnormal psychology, theories of personality, and research methods. Equivalent coursework in other social sciences may be considered.

DescriptionThe Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology provides a foundation in counselling psychology theory and methodology. Along with coursework, the program offers hands-on, supervised training in counselling psychology techniques. Upon graduation, you’ll be prepared for a wide variety of community mental health positions in the public and private sectors.

This program is offered under the written consent of the Minister of Advanced Education for a renewed 5 year term effective November 14, 2011, having undergone a quality assessment process and been found to meet the criteria established by the Minister.
