DescriptionThe Master of Arts in History exposes students to a broad range of historical debates and methodologies in a broad array of seminars. The program has four fields of concentration: International, Gender, Canadian, and European. A seminar in each of these fields will be available each year. The program is offered as a course and Major Research Paper (MRP) stream only which will normally be completed within a year. The MRP will provide students with an opportunity to engage in primary research and interaction with the major historiography of their research area. The program is designed to train students for further graduate work and entry into a Ph.D. program and to develop the skills of research and writing useful for a wide array of other educational and career options. A special feature of the program is the annual Graduate Student Conference held each spring at which students will present their MRP proposals to a wider audience.
