Prerequisites NotesApplicants are required to have 75% in each of: English 30-1; Pure Math 30 or Math 30-1 or Math 30-2; Physics 30; Biology 30; and 1 credit of post-secondary Medical Terminology completed within 5 years of the application deadline with a final grade of 60% or greater or completion of NAIT's Medical Terminology challenge examination with a minimum 60% pass. The NAIT course that meets this prerequisite requirement is ITMS100- Medical Terminology. It is not a requirement for Medical Terminology to be completed by the application deadline; however, if accepted into the program, proof of completion of the course or challenge exam with a passing grade of at least 60% MUST be submitted to the student application file by July 31st.

DescriptionDiagnostic Medical Sonographers are highly trained, in-demand professionals who use ultrasounds to produce and record images of important organs, masses and fetal images. This hands-on accredited program will allow you the opportunity to participate in clinical rotations in major Alberta hospitals. You’ll receive training on industry-standard equipment and get the opportunity to learn on the same technology you’ll use in your practicum placement – and career.
