Biochemistry explores the chemistry of living organisms and the molecular basis for change occurring in living cells, providing the basis for practical advances in areas as diverse as medicine, agriculture, veterinary medicine, and forensics.

The Honors Biochemistry degree is a structured program that includes a directed research project in the senior year.
