| Description: |
The study and performance of music have been an integral part of Mount Allison since its earliest days. Our first diplomas in music were awarded in 1874, making ours one of the oldest music schools in Canada. The Music Department presently serves both students who plan to make careers in music, as well as those who wish to study music on an elective basis or to participate in extra-curricular music-making. We also enhance the musical life of our extended community through the many concerts, recitals, master classes, workshops, and special lectures presented by our faculty, students, and guest artists.
