This four-year Bachelor of Applied Arts (Interior Design) degree prepares students to pursue a professional career related to the design of the built environment. The curriculum integrates professional and general studies with an emphasis on critical thinking and applied research, and is enriched with an additional focus on international perspectives in interior design.
The program contains a strong experiential component that includes simulated studio experiences, community-based design initiatives, and a 14-week co-op work term. In the fourth year, students have the opportunity to specialize in an area of interest specific to the profession and are required to complete an applied research paper. The integration of theory, analysis and practice prepare graduates to assume leadership roles within the profession. Grade 12 English
Grade 12 Mathematics
This program requires an OSSD or equivalent with a minimum 70% in six Grade 12U or U/C courses including English and Mathematics. Submit a portfolio of original work showing evidence of creative and technical ability and including a home test and short written statement.
Applicants may also have an Academic and Career Entrance Certificate, a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, or Mature Student status (19 years of age or older and without a high school diploma at the start of the program).
