This new program helps you become intellectually flexible and equipped to address a wide range of questions and social problems. You'll understand sociological theory and research methods in an urban context, with a view to knowing the hidden workings of the familiar everyday world: from music, fashion, and the workplace to the family, the school, peer groups, the mall, and the corporation. You'll learn about structures of power, about communications patterns and influence, about communities, neighbourhoods, and social policy. And you won't simply think about these things - you'll do practical research, too. Your studies will be framed within the context of Canada's most multicultural city. Because our campus is in the heart of Toronto, we can take our intellectual inquiries into the real world.
