Description: Your studies will encompass a broad background in analog/digital electronics, software development, and modern communications. You値l benefit from a comprehensive investigation of such areas as electronic circuitry, diagnostic techniques, applied mathematics, process control, and computer systems/networks. During the final year of the program, you値l focus on applying learned principles to the design and testing of projects in electronic communications. In addition, you値l study advanced communication topics, including digital and data communications, the characteristics of signals and transmission media, HDTV, satellite, microwave, PCS and cellular wireless systems, as well as broadband to the home.

In your third semester, you値l be eligible to apply for co撲p, a valuable opportunity to gain meaningful work experience with our industry partners. Employers are committed to providing you with relevant work assignments. Upon graduation, you may have acquired up to 12 months of paid employment experience while spending only four or eight months longer to achieve your diploma. You must achieve and maintain above average academic standards for acceptance and progression in co撲p. This program provides you with relevant hands on laboratory work to ensure that you池e well prepared for practical aspects of the global telecommunications system, and of electronic communications in general.

Admission Requirements
Prerequisites: These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

  • Grade 12 English
  • Grade 12 Mathematics
  • Program Eligibility:
    - Ontario Secondary School Diploma with a majority of senior credits at the College Preparation(C), University Preparation(U) or University/College Preparation (M) level or Mature Student Status (age 19 or older). If applicant is a mature student, he/she must have completed the required prerequisite course(s), their equivalent(s), or have obtained appropriate Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) Certificate program credits.
    - Grade 12 English: ENG4(C) or ENG4(U)
    - Grade 12 Mathematics: (C) or (U) or Grade 11 Mathematics: MCR3(U)

    Test Scores:
  • TOEFL (PBT) [min. 550] or CAEL [min. 50] or TOEFL (iBT) [min. 80]
  • International students whose first language is not English must fulfill an English Proficiency requirement in order to qualify for application. English Proficiency requirements are as follows for consideration: A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper based) or 80 (internet based with no test below 20) - TOEFL code 9212, OR Academic IELTS with an overall minimum score of 6.0 (with no single test score below 5.5), OR CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) with an overall band score of 50
