Description:Neuroscience is a multidisciplinary science devoted to the understanding of the nervous system, and borrows principles from a number of subjects including: biology, biochemistry, physiology, psychology, as well as mathematics, physics, immunology and computer science. The undergraduate Neuroscience programs are coordinated by three departments: Biology, Physiology and Psychology. The major program in Neuroscience is a focused program for students interested in how the nervous system functions. The Honours program is intended for students who are interested in laboratory-based research and in acquiring a foundation in each of the 3 streams of the Neuroscience Major (cell and molecular; neurophysiology and computational; cognition and behavior).

Admission Requirements

  • 3 of   Physics 
Applicants must have Biology - NYA (OOUK), Chemistry - NYA, NYB (OOUL, OOUM), Mathematics - NYA, NYB, NYC (OOUN, OOUP, OOUQ), and Physics - NYA, NYB, NYC (OOUR, OOUS, OOUT). General Biology II (OOXU) and Organic Chemistry I (OOXV) are recommended for applicants to biological and pre-medical science programs.


Note: High school students from outside Quebec are not eligible for direct admission. A minimum of one year of university studies with completion of all prerequisite courses is necessary for admission.
