Notes
Homestay costs are per month. We place only one international student with each homestay family. The family provides a private, furnished bedroom and all meals (i.e. three meals each day plus snacks). Students can usually expect to travel about 20 to 30 minutes between their homestay and the TRU campus. Other accommodation is available in nearby hotels. Prices are per semester.
Incoming Students
International students must meet with an academic advisor prior to registration. Full details on support services and facilities are provided to all international students prior to arrival on campus.
Career Planning
Students can attend free workshops on career planning offered by counselling services.

TRU offers a highly competitive varsity athletics program. The TRU Sun Demons compete in basketball, soccer, volleyball, badminton, and baseball. Entrance scholarships are available. Use the TRU Web site to contact the athletics department if you are interested in a tryout or scholarship. Facilities at TRU include a full gymnasium, Hillside Stadium with fields and track, and the Canada Games Aquatic Centre.
Activities
TRU recreation offers activities during the year for all students. Club sports including junior football, rugby, and hockey are open to students. Kamloops is also a Regional Sports Centre with clubs, coaches, and high level competition in a dozen sports. Many high level athletes can attend TRU while training under the regional sports program.
Clubs
Students should check with the Student Society Office for an updated listing of clubs on campus. Major clubs include the Photo-Lit Club, NRS/Forestry Club, PoliSci/Model UN, Chemistry/BioChem, and Rec Hockey.
Information Technology
All TRU students receive computer accounts with Internet and e-mail access though labs in all major buildings and online access from off-campus. Students get their TRU e-mail account from the Computer Resources and Support Centre. Many classes and faculty require students to have a TRU e-mail, as use of WebCT is extensive in classes.
Cultural
Campus facilities include the art gallery as part of the fine arts program and the outdoor sculpture garden. The Alumni Theatre hosts musical and theatre productions throughout the year, including the fall and winter productions of TRU Actors' Workshop. The Campus Activity Centre also hosts many events including the annual international days each spring.
Special Services
A wide range of services from tutors and note takers to specialized equipment are available through the office of the Coordinator of Services for Students with Disabilities. The Counselling Department also provides many free workshops for students and there is a daycare on campus for students with children.
International Involvement
TRU has one of the largest international programs in British Columbia with over 800 students from more than 53 different countries. Student exchange opportunities are available with universities in England, Finland, Germany, the US, Mexico, Japan, and Thailand. International field schools in the summer and semester abroad programs, along with contract training in other parts of the world, are also part of TRU World.
Campus Tours
Available upon request for groups, and also for visiting students and families. Contact the TRU Public Relations Office at (250) 828-5006. Daily tours are offered during the week of Spring Break in March, and from June through August, tours are offered at 11:00 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
