The University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) is a progressive, technology-based university located in Oshawa, Ontario. Less than an hour east of Toronto, the university offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs through its faculties of Business and Information Technology; Social Science and Humanities; Education; Energy Systems and Nuclear Science; Engineering and Applied Science; Health Sciences; and Science.

UOIT’s diverse array of career-focused, market-driven programs is tailored to ensure students a competitive advantage in a dynamic and ever-changing workplace. The university was the first in Canada to offer a degree in Automotive Engineering and a master’s degree in Information Technology Security.

The university’s campus features an award-winning Campus Library; state-of-the-art nursing lab; 200-seat computer learning commons; 20,000-litre wet lab used to study aquatic toxicology; Hacker Research Lab, where students in the Bachelor of Information Technology program develop anti-hacking strategies and skills; Automotive Centre of Excellence, built in partnership with General Motors and the Government of Ontario; 9,290-square-metre Energy Systems and Nuclear Science Research Centre facility; and extensive wireless access.

In addition, the university also features a location in downtown Oshawa for the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Social Science and Humanities.
