Profile
With over 40 years of academic excellence, Langara College is renowned for its award winning faculty who focus on student learning. Centrally located on a park like campus in a quiet residential neighbourhood close to downtown Vancouver, the College offers a broad curriculum designed to meet your post-secondary education needs.

You may choose from more than 200 first and second year university transfer courses in over 40 different subject areas leading to associate degrees, or specialized diplomas or certificates. More Langara College university transfer students are accepted into undergraduate degree programs by UBC than from any other college. More than 8,000 Canadian students and 800 international students from 40 countries study Business, Computer Studies, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Arts and Science, and other programs.

The UQA (University Quality Alliance) program was started to assist students to access five of Canada's top universities. The universities in the UQA program include UBC, SFU, University of Alberta, University of Saskatchewan, and York University. Each of these universities has an excellent reputation, offers a wide range of undergraduate degrees, and presents a full range of student services characteristic of a large university campus.

You can upgrade your English language skills in LEAP (Langara English for Academic Purposes), which is offered every two months or in year round short term ESL programs, some of which include cultural activities.

The College also gives you the opportunity to earn a certificate or diploma in one of 28 career programs. The Continuing Studies Division provides over 500 evening and weekend non-credit courses for domestic students.

Langara College is noted for its innovative approach to learning with field studies. Recently, the College has offered short term credit study/travel programs in Italy, Greece, and Japan. The College was the first institution in British Columbia to develop co-operative education programs and currently offers six different co-op 'learn while you earn' programs.
