Profile
As the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) , we were established in 1907 and have grown to be a leading post-secondary institution. We are home to 13 colleges, a federated arts college and four affiliated theological institutions through which we offer over 100 areas of study. Located on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River in the city of Saskatoon, we are known for our beautiful campus and the blend of Old English Gothic style with new architecture. Our active cultural environment in a relaxed setting makes the University of Saskatchewan appealing to students who want to meet new people and try new things. We are involved in making both undergraduate and graduate programs international. The U of S is fully committed to employment and education equity.

The partnership between the University, government and the private sector has created a vibrant research and development environment. Innovation Place, our 120 acre research and development park, is located adjacent to the campus. One of North America's most successful university related research parks, it is home to a dynamic community of entrepreneurs, researchers, and federal and provincial agencies. The research carried out at Innovation Place has led to the development of new products, processes, and technologies in a wide variety of fields: aerospace; agriculture; biotechnology; communications; information technology; hydrology; and more. Our combination of superb facilities and broad expertise has made U of S and Saskatoon one of the world's leading centres in agricultural biotechnology. The U of S is also home to Canada's only synchrotron. As the largest single science and technology project in the country, this synchrotron will be one of the brightest x-ray sources in North America.
Areas of Expertise
At the University of Saskatchewan, areas of expertise include liberal, professional, and applied education. Also, the U of S is the only Anglophone university in Canada to offer courses in ten health science areas. The U of S is also home to Canada's only synchrotron. As the largest single science and technology project in the country, this synchrotron will be one of the brightest x-ray sources in North America.
