Tracy, 29, is a Travel Counsellor/Customer Service Agent with a travel wholesale company in Toronto. She attended Centennial College and graduated from the Travel Counsellor program in 1994.

Stephanie: What made you decide to become a Travel Counsellor/Customer Service Agent?
Tracy:
Simple ... I love to travel!

Stephanie: What kind of an education did you get to be a Travel Counsellor?
Tracy:
I took a two-year course at Centennial College.

Stephanie: What do you like about your job?
Tracy:
Getting to see the world on someone else's coin! But seriously, the travel perks are a small part of it. I enjoy sharing all my travel experiences with others and being able to recommend different destinations to people.

Stephanie: What is your least favourite part of the job?
Tracy:
Dealing with irate customers who had complaints about their vacation.

Stephanie: What advice do you have for someone considering getting into the travel industry?
Tracy:
The money isn't that great, and at times the industry can be very unprofessional. The job can also be very stressful. But if you've got tough skin and don't mind the long hours and hard work, the perks are worth it!

Stephanie: What's your favourite travel destination?
Tracy:
Almost anywhere in the Caribbean or in Asia, as well as the UK, the south of France and the Tuscany region of Italy.
