Have you ever had a teacher who had a profound impact on your life? Do you aspire to do the same for younger generations? It sounds like you may want to become a teacher! Before you can become a teacher, you’ll need an education program. To help with your education program search, check out what schools have made the top 20 for Maclean’s rankings for Canada’s best education programs for 2025.

This program ranking is based on survey results where over 1,000 professors, deans, and chairs at 70 universities responded to a Maclean’s survey asking them to list up to 10 universities they felt had the best programs and conducted the best research.

These are the top 20 schools for education programs in Canada for 2025:

University of Victoria rose eight spots to rank twelfth! There’s also three new schools who have all made their way onto the list for the top 20 education programs in 2025: St. Francis Xavier University, Lakehead University, and the University of Lethbridge.

While it’s great to know where a school’s education program ranks compared to others, it’s important to remember that you shouldn’t make your decision on where to go to school based on rankings alone. There are many other factors you should consider, like scholarships, class sizes, extracurriculars, location, and more.
