Welcome to Prince Edward Island, an Island cradled in of the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the East Coast of Canada. Prince Edward Island, Canada’s birthplace and smallest province, is home to the famous Anne of Green Gables, world renowned beaches, and mouth-watering potatoes and lobster. Located in the capital city of Charlottetown, the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is a great small university that prides itself in offering a unique experience for every student. Students, staff and faculty are gearing up for the 2015-2016 academic year and are excited to help you get started.

We welcome students from over 70 countries and offer student exchange opportunities worldwide. On Friday September 4, the University devotes a full day to welcome international and exchange students through the International Student Orientation event. In addition, we have Orientation Week planned from September 5-13, which is not only a time to make new friends, but discover what UPEI has to offer, see our beautiful campus, develop connections with staff and faculty to help plan your future. From “Shine Day” to social events, we promise you will have a great time and even learn a few things! UPEI offers an International "Buddy" Program which provides assistance for a smooth transition by matching new students with returning local or international students. “Buddies” help students adapt to a new country, culture, and environment.

To help ease the changes of both University life and moving to a new country, we offer a free airport pick-up program for international and exchange students, where a friendly face will welcome you to PEI.

So come, study at UPEI for that unique learning experience you will only find in our small class sizes taught by our award-winning faculty. For more information, please contact one of our international advisors Mary-Jane at marjdoucette@upei.ca, or Freya at rqi@upei.ca. Hope to see you soon!
