Program Information

School:Redeemer University
Degree:Bachelor; Honours
Field of Study:Urban Ministry
Description:In an increasingly globalized world, it is imperative to develop the capacity to learn from, work with and appreciate different cultures and perspectives. In Redeemer's Urban Ministry program, you will be confronted with both intercultural and urban contexts, learning what it means to announce, demonstrate, and embody the good news of the Kingdom of God, resulting in the transformation and flourishing of communities.

Right from the start, you're learning to understand your own cultural formation and how it can both help and hinder meaningful ministry. First-year courses provide a broad overview of topics that are critical to ministry and Christian faith, including a foundational understanding of the Bible. Gain an awareness, as well as the necessary tools, to serve effectively in churches, ministries, and community organizations. Class discussions, lead by dedicated and experienced professors, give the opportunity to understand worldview from the perspective of other denominational and cultural backgrounds.

Urban Ministry is a Bachelor of Arts degree program. It is offered as an honours major.
