Description: | The Bachelor of Music (BMus) degree is designed to prepare you for a professional career in music, either as a performer, teacher, composer, theorist, historian or critic.
As a Bachelor of Music graduate, you'll be prepared for career opportunities in areas such as performance, education, arts management, and audio production and design. Your degree can also be used as a stepping-stone to graduate studies or another professional degree such as law, medicine or veterinary medicine.
The Major is designed for students looking to build strong musical skills in a comprehensive music degree. The flexibility of years three and four allows students to gain a broad musical knowledge (for example, equal parts Music History, Music Performance and Music Theory and Composition) or to fuse two or more areas of musical study in a way that they are unable to in the other majors (for example performance and composition, music and technology, performance and early music studies). Admission to this major will depend on a statement of interest submitted to the Division Lead of Music at the end of the first year of studies. |
