Applicants are required to have: a B.Ed. degree, and a valid teaching certificate, and a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Applicants who are accepted to the Master of Education program may also be required to take 07:780 Graduate Scholarly Writing a part of their program. Only in exceptional circumstances will applicants without a B.Ed. degree be considered for admission. Applicants with a relevant undergraduate degree and professional experience may apply.
Students entering the Master of Education Program in Education are admitted via course route. Once 15 credit hours (including the 2 core courses: 07.714 and 07.752) have been successfully completed, the student, in consultation with the department chair, may submit an application to move forward into the thesis route for the Master of Education program, following the procedures outlined in the M.Ed. Thesis Protocol.
