Faculty: | Faculty of Graduate Studies |
Field of Study: | Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Lang./ESL Lang. Instructor
|
Description: | The program focuses on personal and professional development from two perspectives. First, the emphasis is on an approach to language instruction that acknowledges the importance of this discipline to serving others around the world--working in communities of learning. From the start, the way we teach mirrors our belief in the strength of collaboration and teamwork. The overall framework presented is always tied very closely to the mission of the university. The instructors teach from a Christian perspective, although students of all faiths and beliefs are in the program. Second, the curriculum is forward-looking by preparing instructors who are competent in educational technology, state-of-the-art teaching strategies, course design, and program implementation.
In some cases, those students who do not have prior training in English language instruction, requisite English language skills or teaching experience may be required to enroll for pre-requisite courses prior to enrolling in the Online or Resident programs. |
