Description: | Study in our modern and dynamic learning environment. Learn to evaluate cardiac anatomy, function, and hemodynamics through the most commonly used imaging procedures for the diagnosis of heart disease. Work directly with patients as part of a highly skilled medical team. Gain employment in community and teaching hospitals, independent clinics and mobile units, or in research, management, clinical teaching, education, and applications and sales with commercial companies.
Graduates of this program will develop theoretical and clinical competency in the field of cardiac sonography, gain extensive laboratory and clinical practice experience using state-of-the-art equipment, and participate in two semesters (12 weeks each term) of clinical training with affiliated clinical agencies. Eligible graduates may take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) examinations in Cardiovascular Principles and Instrumentation, Physics, and Adult Echocardiography. |
