Description:

Biology-Chemistry is one of several interdisciplinary programs offered at UNB. This program gives students the opportunity to study biology and chemistry jointly to cover a broad base of topics in both disciplines, and can be tailored to individual student interests.

Courses in biology, chemistry, math, and physics will give students a knowledge of organisms (from the cellular level up to ecosystem level interactions) and how they can be understood and manipulated through application of chemical tools, techniques, and analysis at the molecular level. A selection of chemistry courses covering its main sub-disciplines will support student understanding of the relevant biochemical, medicinal, and pharmaceutical aspects of the program.

If you present only Chemistry, you’ll be considered at the discretion of the Faculty.

If you have high academic standing you may be considered for admission if you present any two of three grade 12 Sciences, e.g. Biology/Chemistry; Biology/Physics; Physics/ Chemistry, etc.

It is recommended that students who have not taken any mathematics courses for more than two years take MATH 1863 Precalculus before attempting MATH 1001 or MATH 1003.

Students with less than 75% in each of the PRECALCA120 and PRECALCB120 (or equivalent) may want to consider taking MATH 1863 Precalculus before attempting MATH 1001 or MATH 1003.
