Description: | Manufacturing represents close to 8% of British Columbia’s GDP, the fourth largest in the province and more than twice as large as tourism or high tech. Manufacturing in BC includes a variety of high value-adding sectors ranging from wood and paper products to aerospace, biotechnology and electronics. One in every five jobs in the province depends on manufacturing. More than 94% of manufacturing jobs are full-time with wages 15% higher than the provincial average. Careers in manufacturing are as numerous and varied as manufacturing itself, with this program addressing positions in engineering and middle management. |

Prerequisites:* | These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Applicants must have: two years of education in English in an English-speaking country with one of the following: English 12 (67%) or 3.0 credits of post-secondary English, humanities or social sciences (67%) from a recognized institution; and one of the following: diploma in a manufacturing-related technology such as Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics and Robotics or equivalent level of formal training/education at the post-secondary level. |
