Description:Our program is accredited by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians, the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Our graduates consistently achieve top scores on the Veterinary Technician National Exam to become Registered Veterinary Technicians (R.V.T.). The Veterinary Technology Diploma (Conventional Delivery) provides students on-campus training over two years from September to April.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

  •  Grade12 Chemistry 
  •  Grade12 Mathematics 
  •  Grade12 English 
OSSD or equivalent; Grade 12C or U Math and English; Grade 11C or U Biology; Grade 12C or Grade 11 U Chemistry; each with a minimum 75% final average, College Level or 65% final average, University Level. If applicants have not completed Grade 12C or U Math and English Grade 11 marks will be considered in the assessment process but the Grade 12 courses must be completed prior to entry.
Test Scores:
  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 600] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 250] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 85] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70]
Application Notes : Applicants who have met or are in the process of meeting the academic requirements will be required to complete pre-admissions testing at Ridgetown Campus or other designated testing site.

NOTE: Students will receive prophylactic rabies immunization beginning the first week of classes, and arranged on campus by program co-ordinator.
This is a physically demanding program and students with some forms of disabilities may not be successful based on the physical demands of the program. Mature Student Status does not apply. Mature Student Status: do not hold a high school diploma or equivalent, but are 19 years of age or older and out of high school for a minimum of one year; may be required to complete pre-admission testing.
