Description:The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) curriculum has been redesigned for the April 2018 intake. The changes attend to advances in learning theory and curriculum design in nursing education. The redesigned curriculum meet standards of accountability to government, students and society for exceptional nursing graduates who will lead healthcare in British Columbia.

This curriculum will be a spiraled, competency based model that employs conceptual learning, learning technologies and active learning strategies, including both simulated and clinical practice experiences. The three year program is delivered year round in three 14-week terms with breaks of two to four weeks between terms.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
  •  Grade11 Chemistry 
  •  Grade11 Principles of Mathematics  or  Grade11 Applied Mathematics  or  Grade11 Precalculus 
English: two years of education in English in an English-speaking country

Math: one of the following: Pre-Calculus 11 (73%) or 12 (67%) or Foundations of Math 11 (73%) or 12 (73%) or Other acceptable BC and Yukon courses or MATH 0007 (73%)

Chemistry 11 (73%)
Additional Admission Requirements:
    Academic Foundations: 18.0 post-secondary credits with a minimum of 67% in each of the following courses:
    ENGL 1177 - Academic Writing or equivalent (3.0 credits)
    BHSC 1200 - Human Anatomy and Physiology or equivalent, completed within the past three years (6.0 credits)
    PSYC 1101 - Introductory Psychology 1 or equivalent* (3.0 credits)
    General Education electives at a 100 level minimum in at least two different academic disciplines (6.0 credits)
