Description: | The MRI and Spectroscopy program was created in partnership between Red River College, Canada's National Research Council Institute for Biodiagnostics (IBD), and several clinical facilities across Canada. This international educational program is designed for qualified medical radiation technologists who wish to excel in the fast growing field of magnetic resonance. The program provides state-of-the-art education on magnetic resonance (MR) instrumentation, methodologies, and techniques. Graduates from this program will be effective in the operation of the instruments, proficient in producing high quality images, and will contribute significantly to optimal utilization of the MR equipment.
In order to provide quality clinical experience, students may be required to train at sites outside the province. Information on placement sites will be available at the time of acceptance. The program prepares technologists to write the National Certification examinations, the standard set by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and by the American Registry for Radiological Technologists.
