Community Services Workers help clients to deal with personal and social problems. They also plan and carry out various community programs and services. Individuals in this role may be responsible for preparing intake reports, referring clients to other social services, admitting clients to appropriate programs, and meeting with clients to evaluate treatments/plans and progress.
This program provides students with the knowledge and skills to provide many types of assistance to people and communities. Areas of study include addictions, psychology, sociology, mental health, Canadian family dynamic, professional skills, counselling and interviewing techniques, business communications and report writing Notes: certificates featured in program: MS 100 First Aid and CPR. Twelve months long, includes an eight week-long internship.
