Description: | Computer Aided Design and Drafting Program traditionally concerned with the conception, design, implementation, and operation of mechanical systems. Typical fields of work are aerospace, energy, manufacturing, machinery, and transportation. Graduates of this program have diverse employment opportunities due to their unique combination of design, analysis, manufacturing, programming, and computer management skills. Many graduates work as designers, working on products ranging from consumer products, such as bicycle components, water slides, and lighting systems to industrial machinery, such as sawmill equipment, excavators, and winches. A number are also involved in managing the hardware and software used in engineering offices. Opportunities also exist in application customization for companies involved in industries, such as mechanical design, architecture, construction, mining, and electronics. Supervisory and management positions may be assumed with further job experience.
Students in the program will learn about AutoCAD 2012(2D/3D), SolidWorks, ProEngineer, Autodesk Inventor and Unigraphics. |
