| Description: | The Aboriginal Child & Family Services program addresses the concerns of First Nations, Métis, and urban Aboriginals as they respond to the redesign of family and social services for children and families as well as the move by First Nations People to provide local control for social programs.
As an Aboriginal Child & Family Services student, all of your courses will emphasize the influence that family, health and culture have on child development. You'll learn practical skills to provide help as a qualified child and family services employee. Applicants must possess an Alberta High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 50% in English 30/30-1 or 65% in English 33/30-2. A program admission interview questionnaire is required and will be reviewed by the program chairperson.
Mature students (over 21 years of age) without English 30/30-1 or 33/30-2 may be considered for admission based on high school level competency reading and a writing pre-admission test. A program admission interview questionnaire is required and will be reviewed by the program chairperson. |
