Description: | This program provides you with relevant administrative and high–level technological skills to meet the demands of the current and emerging health care system.
As a student in this program, you will master in three semesters, the skills and knowledge traditionally offered in a four–semester program. The three semesters are delivered over twelve consecutive months. In the first semester you’ll acquire a solid foundation of business office procedures and intermediate– level computer skills. The final two semesters focus on Medical Office Administration with advanced–level technological skills. You will graduate with a solid knowledge of medical terminology and its construction and a general background in anatomy and physiology. You’ll be familiar with procedures required to operate a medical office and are skilled in transcription of a wide range of medical data. Workplace simulations assist you in transferring the learned skills and knowledge to the work environment. Computer skills and business office practices are also readily transferable to other academic and career paths. |
