Field of Study: | Divinity/Ministry(BD, MDiv.)
|
Description: | Churches are increasingly emphasizing discipleship and small groups rather than traditional models of Christian nurture. This transition has altered the nature of Christian Education in the church. This program is designed to equip students with a thorough understanding of curriculum, teaching, human development and discipleship foundations, so they can teach, mentor and disciple children and families, youth and adults through different life and faith stages. Our goal is to equip leaders and pastors for children’s ministry and adult discipleship in the church.
The Christian Education and Discipleship major provides an interdisciplinary approach to Christian education and faith formation promoting a broad and full experience. Students will learn Christian history, theological studies, biblical studies, educational studies, and discipleship practices, creating a complete context from which to pastor, teach, and disciple others.
