Faculty:Computer and Mathematical Sciences
Degree:Bachelor; Co-op; Honours
Field of Study:Finance and Financial Management Services, Other
Statistics, General
Description:Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. The discipline is research-intensive, and includes many interesting aspects such as probability and game theory, statistical modeling and analysis. All of these are applicable to virtually every field.

The Quantitative Finance stream will give students an in-depth theoretical understanding of the core concepts of quantitative finance. This program differs from similar programs offered at U of T and other institutions as it provides more of the mathematical, statistical, and computer science background that underlies the concepts of quantitative finance.

Employment prospects for graduates in these fields are excellent, and students interested in co-op are encouraged to consider these streams. Studying Statistics is an excellent choice for students with strong quantitative skills and an interest in applying these skills to solve practical problems.
