Description: | Students acquire Anishnaabemowin skills to develop and implement sustainable language programs in Indigenous communities and organizations. Students practice their speaking skills through interactions in the classroom, language labs, in the community and through immersion activities. The history of Anishnaabemowin and current issues affecting revitalization and preservation are also studied. Incorporating the Anishnaabe world view, students examine the role and importance of Anishnaabemowin in ceremony, cultural values, and community. |
