Description: | The Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) - Major Music Education, when offered concurrently with the The Bachelor of Education - Major Music Elementary and Secondary, provides students with the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor of Music degree and a Bachelor of Education degree after the completion of 137 credits, normally five years (170 credits or six years for out-of-province students*). The Concurrent program combines academic studies in music, professional studies, and field experience. The two degrees are awarded during the same convocation period.
* Out-of-province students or those who have not completed Quebec CEGEP, French Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate, or at least one year of university studies prior to commencing the Concurrent program.
To be admitted to the Concurrent program, students must satisfy the regular admission requirements of the Schulich School of Music and Faculty of Education. Normally, students will be admitted to both components of the Concurrent program simultaneously. Applicants who already hold a Bachelor of Music degree from a North American university should apply to the Faculty of Education. |
