Field of Study: | Electrical, Electronic and Comm. Engin. Tech./Technician
|
Description: | Gain a solid background in the fundamentals of modern electronics, both analog and digital, combined with a foundation in computer technology. The EEN program provides you with a high proportion of relevant hands-on laboratory work to give you the practical experience that the electronics industry values. You’ll study such topics as electronic devices and circuitry, microcontroller-based circuits, diagnostic techniques and computer programming, with enough of a theoretical foundation to allow for future professional or academic progression. During the final year of the program, you’ll specialize in one or more areas of electronics and computer engineering through your selection of available professional options.
Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional co-op work term(s) in a formal work environment. In most cases the work term(s) is a full-time paid position completed between two academic semesters. In programs with limited co-op opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional co-op stream regardless of success in securing a work position.
