Description | Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. The discipline is research-intensive, and includes many interesting aspects such as probability and game theory, statistical modeling and analysis. All of these are applicable to virtually every field.
The new Quantitative Finance stream will give students an in-depth theoretical understanding of the core concepts of quantitative finance. This program differs from similar programs offered at U of T and other institutions as it provides more of the mathematical, statistical, and computer science background that underlies the concepts of quantitative finance.
