Description | The two-year Settlement Studies diploma program will develop the skills needed for human service professionals to effectively work with newcomers to Canada. Students will learn what distinguishes settlement work from other disciplines in the human services, of different models and approaches to effectively work with migrant diaspora communities, and of strategies to help bridge cultural divides between newcomer communities and greater Canadian society.
The program may be entered directly in Year 1, or in Year 2 after completion of NorQuest’s Community Support Worker certificate program. | | |
