Applicants must participate in an information session with members of the Health Information Management Admissions Committee, attend a hospital orientation tour, and submit a 500 word essay covering what interests you about the Health Information Management (H.I.M.) program as a field or career path, what you would like to do when you graduate, what you see as your major strengths, what you see as your major areas for further development, and indicating what alternatives to the H.I.M. program you may have considered.

Description | The Health Information Management program will develop the skills and knowledge to effectively manage the health information required for patient care, administration, research and education. The program is designed to train students for the specialized techniques required in health information management and offers a unique combination of medical, computer, and business courses.
Emphasis during the program will be on health information science, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical coding, computerization, and statistical analysis. Graduates are eligible to write the national certification exam administered by the Canadian Health Information Management Association. Successful certification allows portability of your skills across Canada. | | |
