Prerequisites Notes | B.C. secondary school graduation or equivalent. Minimum of 70% in one of English 12, English 12 First Peoples, or Technical and Professional Communications 12, or an equivalent provincial-level Adult Basic Education English course; or minimum of level 4 on the Language Proficiency Index (LPI). Principles of Mathematics 11 or an equivalent advanced-level Adult Basic Education mathematics course; or minimum of 70% in Introductory Mathematics 11; or minimum of 60% in Applications of Mathematics 11; or minimum of 60% in one of Pre-Calculus 11, Foundations of Mathematics 11, or Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics 11. Cost | Students can expect to pay approximately $69000 for tuition and flight training fees. Tuition fees for the flying portion are dependent upon the number of hours required to complete the flying and training requirements. These hours will vary according to the skill level of individual students. Please note that students who book an aircraft, simulator or instructor are responsible for related charges and cancellation penalties will apply. When students purchase fuel away from the main base of operations in Kelowna, they will be reimbursed at the Kelowna fuel rate set by Southern Interior Flight Centre. | | |

Description | The Commercial Aviation diploma program is for men and women who are interested in pursuing a career in aviation. The program provides students with business experience along with the aviation training required by Transport Canada. In addition to receiving aviation experience, graduates are prepared to enter into the field of commercial aviation.
The Commercial Aviation diploma program consists of two distinct and separate areas of study - flight training and business studies. The business portion is completed at Okanagan College and normally consists of two business courses per semester for a total of eight courses over two-years. Notwithstanding general policies of Okanagan College, the business and elective courses must be completed while concurrently enrolled in the Flight Portion of the Commercial Aviation program.
